1.  Why should I bring my dog to Sloppy Dog Wash instead of bathing them at home?

We clean up the mess!  We provide everything for you to properly wash your dog - all of the professional grooming supplies and tools.  We also feature semi-private work stations for your 'shower shy' dog.  We make it easy for you to wash your dog because everything is within reach, ergonomic, and comfortable.  Our facility is open daily, new, clean, and our location is convenient.  Finally, you'll be comfortable in our climate controlled facility and your dog will love our climate controlled water!

Don't fight with your dog in the driveway, in your clean bathroom, or in your yard.  Your dog hates the cold water from the hose and doesn't like to be bathed in the public view.  Forget the hot summer days in the yard or the cold winter days in the household bathtub.  Do your dog, and yourself a favor, bring your dog to Sloppy Dog Wash.  Everyone loves a clean dog!

2.  What is the Blueberry Facial?

Sloppy Dog Wash features the Blueberry Facial for dogs.  This hypo-allergenic, all-natural, tearless shampoo is meant for washing those hard-to-clean areas of your dog's face (around the mouth, eyes, ears, cracks, and wrinkles).  As you massage the Blueberry Facial into your dog's coat, the scent will help relax them.  It is okay if you get it in their eyes or if they lick it.  The Blueberry Facial is a great brightener for white dogs, too!

3.  When is the best time to bring my dog to Sloppy Dog Wash?

Sloppy Dog Wash is least busy on the weekdays.  On the weekends, the wait for a tub can be as much as one to two hours.  If you prefer not to wait for a tub, it is best to call ahead and check for availability and place your dog on the wait-list.  We will call you when a tub will soon be available for you.  We never require an appointment.

4.  What do I need to bring with me to wash my dog?

You will need to bring ALL of your sloppy dogs!  Sloppy Dog Wash provides everything you need to properly wash your dog.  If your dog requires a special shampoo, you are welcome to bring your own.  Also, it is a good idea to make sure your dog has gone to the bathroom before leaving your house.  Due to our location, no facilities are available for dogs who have to make any 'deposits.'

5.  What should I expect when I come for the first time?

If you have never been to a self-serve dog wash, we invite you to come by when you are in the neighborhood and take a tour.  Our facility is new, very spacious, and dog friendly.  You'll find a clean facility that does not resemble (or smell like) your typical dog grooming shop.  Expect a warm smile, friendly staff, and attentive service.  Sloppy Dog Wash is a small, locally owned business and is not part of any national franchise.  We appreciate you choosing your local small business over the national, corporate-owned stores.

6.  Can I bring more than one dog at a time?

Absolutely!  Sloppy Dog Wash features semi-private work stations where bringing more than one dog is very easy and recommended.  While you wash one dog, your other dog(s) can stand and watch their fate.

7.  Why do you recommend using at least one entire bottle of shampoo?

All dog shampoos are slightly diluted for easier rinsing.  Using one entire bottle of shampoo and letting it remain on the dog for 3-5 minutes allows the shampoo to break down the dirt.  Your dog will less likely stink afterwards, too.  Also, if any shampoo residue is left on your dog after their bath, your dog may have irritated, red, and/or itchy skin.  What would happen to your scalp if you didn't rinse out all of your shampoo during your shower?  Very uncomfortable!    Please make sure you rinse and rinse again to ensure you get all the shampoo off before drying. You dog will sure appreciate it.

8.  Why do I need to make sure my dog is completely dry?

Dogs loose the most hair when they are dry and as they are drying.  As you dry your dog with our powerful air dryers, you will notice a lot of hair falling off if not flying through the air.  Remember, we clean up the mess!  The more dry your dog is when they leave Sloppy Dog Wash, the less hair in your car and in your house.  Also, if it is cold outside, your dog will be less likely to get sick.

9.  Do I need an appointment to wash my dog?

Who has time for appointments?  Appointments are very limiting.  No appointment is required for you to wash your dog.  We don't require an appointment for the full-service washes, either. We are open everyday for your convenience!

10.  What special shampoos do you offer?

If your dog has special skin or coat needs, we offer a variety of shampoos to aid in the healing of those problems.  Our selection includes shampoos for dry skin, itchy skin, sensitive skin, mats and tangles, brighteners, fleas & ticks, severe itch relief, and conditioners for dry and damaged hair.

11.  How long does it take to wash my dog?

Every dog is different.  The size of your dog and their type of coat will determine the lenth of time it will take to properly wash your dog.  Small dogs typically take 20-30 minutes.  Medium size dogs can take 30-50 minutes.  Large dogs or thick-coated dogs will usually take 50+ minutes.  Please allow enough time to properly wash your dog in relation to the store hours.  We appreciate your cooperation and consideration and your dog will, too.

12.  Can you show me how to wash my dog?

Yes, we can.  We are happy to show you - we like to see clean dogs!  When you come to Sloppy Dog Wash for the first time, we'll point out how everything works, when to use it, and how to use it most effectively.  If at anytime you have any questions or need assistance, our staff is just a holler away

13.  Can I bring in other animals to wash besides a dog?

YES!  If you have a cat, ferret, donkey, pony, pig, or monkey that you would like to wash at Sloppy Dog Wash, please call us for arrangements.  We will accomodate you, if possible.  Some animals may require proof of vaccinations.  We cannot accomodate endangered species, reptiles, animals with bad behavior or bad temperment (lions, tigers, bears).  We also cannot accomodate animals weighing more than 250 lbs - why would you have an animal this big, anyways?

14.  Do you have a "frequent dog wash" program?

Sloppy Dog Wash does have a frequent dog wash program.  We currently have a special punch card.  Pick one up on your first visit and present it at each following visit.  Fill one card and receive a free $15 self-serve wash.  Fill two cards and receive a free $25 full service wash.

15.  When will Sloppy Dog Wash open a store on my side of town?

As we grow, we will explore the options of more stores in the Tulsa area.  We appreciate your business at our Brookside location which will help us with more locations.  Sloppy Dog Wash is locally owned and operated.  We are not part of any franchise.

Sloppy Dog Wash is currently working on expanding the current Brookside location and will do an extensive remodel and expansion.  This will cause closure for a short period of time.  Once reopened, we will begin construction on our second and third locations.

16.  What does Sloppy Dog Wash do for the community?

We frequently partner will various non-profit organizations in the Tulsa area that have animal welfare as their number one priority.  We would love to help your organization but you have to ask us.

17.  How can I express my concerns and opinions about Sloppy Dog Wash?
